Community

FT Techno of America, Fowlerville Proving Ground, is deeply committed to benefiting the communities and improving the quality of life of the people where we operate. Our test tracks and facilities allow FTTA to support our community in a unique way, having an impact far beyond traditional cash donations. We strive to create partnerships, get involved, and make a real difference in the lives of the people that surround us. Here is our mission:

  • FT Techno of America will live in harmony with our neighbors and the environment.
  • We will foster technological innovation in the field of transportation through promotion of math, science, and engineering in our local education system.
  • We will promote public safety through our partnerships with local emergency response and public service entities.

To achieve this mission, each year we open our doors and offer our facilities and expertise to everyone from brand new drivers to high performance experts who respond to emergencies. In addition to the groups shown below, FTTA is also proud to be a sponsor and supporting member of:

  • Livingston County Teen Distracted Driving Initiative
  • Founding Partner, Fowlerville High School Robotics Team
  • Fowlerville Family Impact Center
  • Advanced Driver Training for Teens

Every year FT Techno of America provides a driver’s training course for the teens at Fowlerville High School and the surrounding Livingston County area. This transformational program is a mix of classroom and hands-on exercises giving students a chance to experience real life situations in a safe environment. During the course, teens are first given instruction and then paired with an instructor for actual driving on our test tracks. Teens get to try what they have learned through a series of courses: double lane change, straight line braking, J-turns, accident avoidance, and many others. Lastly, teens are shown how to control their vehicles on tracks simulating ice and snow, an essential skill in Michigan.

  • First Responders

Multiple times each year, FTTA opens its doors to the Livingston County Sheriff Department and Livingston County EMS for driver training. Set up on our dynamic pad, the first responders have the opportunity to practice various maneuvers in a safe, controlled environment.

  • Formula SAE

A proud sponsor of two collegiate Formula SAE teams, FTTA provides our tracks and facilities to students of the universities of Michigan and Michigan State.  At FTTA, the groups work together to develop and tune their vehicles on our dynamic pad and practice driving in anticipation of their annual race.
